Quality design is how I make hard things clear.

I’ve spent over 20 years finding the throughline between two things people usually treat as separate: instructional design and visual craft. My first career was in graphic design: running my own creative studio, Covington Street, for 16 years while designing, shooting, filming, and editing for clients. That eye for clarity and composition didn’t stay behind when I moved into corporate learning. It became the whole point.

For over a decade, I’ve designed learning for large, complex organizations, most recently as Senior Learning Experience Designer, where I build training across 17 business units. Before that, I split my time between instructional design and design/editorial work at a global organization with over 15,000 employees. In every seat, the job has been the same: take something complicated and make it clear enough that people will retain and use it.

HOW I WORK

I evaluate learning using the Kirkpatrick framework, asking not just if they liked it, but did behavior change, and did it move a business result. That’s the lens behind each project I take on. Clearly define objectives from the start and work to measure the results.

I also bring full in-house video production: filming, directing, and editing. I’m not handing off the visual half of a project to someone else and hoping it survives translation. What you see in a finished course or video is what I designed from the start.

LEADERSHIP & MENTORING

Beyond individual projects, I set design standards for my team, mentor other instructional designers, and lead our AI adoption efforts. I help my team use AI as scaffolding for speed while keeping human judgment and taste firmly in charge of quality.
